Community consultation with CALD communities and advocacy; Preparing Policy submissions and proposals, providing expert opinion and developing policy guidelines; Conducting Research (Qualitative and Quantitative) with CALD communities; Prepare Psy-Social Assessments for CALD families (Social Assessments for Court, Developing cultural support plans for children in Out-of-Home Care, Recruiting and Training Foster carers from CALD backgrounds); Training and Professional Development for Social work and Human services staff (Government, NGO and University students) on Cultural Competence Practice when working with CALD communities.
Jatinder Kaur graduated from the Master of Social Administration program in July 2007 with specialisations in (Community Development, Social Research and Child Protection).
As part of her Masters degree she conducted research project into 'Assessment Issues faced by Child Protection Investigation Officers when working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse families'.
She designed and developed a cross cultural child protection survey instrument (CCCPS) as the literature review was not able to find any survey tool or assessment tool which explored the concept of cross cultural competence within the child protection setting.
