2014 – Spectrum MRC (Preston, Victoria) (March – July 2014) launched on 28 April 2015, I was Commissioned to expand the ‘Parenting in a New Culture’ guides program and updating the current guidelines and developing new guidelines into four new languages. These resources aim to help build parenting skills and family cohesion in newly arrived refugee and migrant families. The new resources have been developed to build the capacity of the community services sector in response to increasing demand for specialist family intervention and parenting support in refugee and migrant communities. http://www.parentinginanewculture.org.au.

2014 – Project consultant for Australian Research Alliance for Children & Youth (ARACY) (April – July 2014) completed. ARACY received grant from SCANLON Foundation to conduct an evaluation of the CAARS- CALD project and pilot in a location. Sikh Interfaith Council of Victoria (SICV) (September 2014 – March 2015), On 16 September 2014, Office of Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship (OMAC) provided funding to the Sikh Interfaith Council of Victoria (SICV) for the establishment of a Gurduara Council in Victoria. SICV has engaged JK Diversity Consultants to: undertake community consultation, capacity development, leadership training. Development of Culturally Sensitive Practice in Out-of-Home Care: A Good Practice Guide to supporting children and youth from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds’. On the 5 September 2014, JK Diversity Consultants in partnership with PeakCare Qld, Life Without Barriers and Key Assets launched the ‘Culturally Sensitive Practice in Out-of-Home Care: A Good Practice Guide to supporting children and youth from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds’ at Griffith University Logan campus. This resource has been developed as a practice guide for anyone working with children and young people from CALD backgrounds and is targeted towards practitioners employed in the child and family welfare sector, child protection system, out-of-home care, foster and kinship carer agencies, residential youth workers, policy and program officers.
